Baghlan, Takhar, Badakhshan, and Herat were badly affected by the recent disaster.
Hikmatullah Shamim, a spokesman for the governor of Parwan told to media that medical teams have been sent from Parwan to assist the affected people.
Hedayatullah Hamdard, who heads the provincial Natural Disaster Management Directorate, told the media that the floods on 10 May caused significant casualties and extensive property damage in Central Baghlan, Burka, and Nahrin districts. Sources say that approximately 28 villages have been partially or destroyed.
Officials also report that flooding in Badakhshan province has resulted in the death of a child and significant financial damage. The floods occurred in Kohistan, Keshm, Tagab, and Tishkan districts.
The closure of the Tishkan road in Badakhshan has trapped about 20,000 people in the floods.
Accurate statistics on the casualties and damages caused by the floods have not yet been finalized, and the Ministry of Disaster Management has not yet commented
