Sergey Naryshkin, Director of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, accused U.S. and British intelligence agencies of supporting terrorists in Afghanistan and Central Asian countries. On Friday, May 24, the TASS news agency reported Naryshkin’s claims that Al-Qaeda and ISIS were creations of U.S. and British intelligence.
He made these remarks during a Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) meeting in Bishkek, Kazakhstan. According to Naryshkin, Syria is not the only example of this influence; Afghanistan has also been significantly affected.
Additionally, the head of Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee stated on Saturday that terrorist groups have been growing in northern Afghanistan. Russia has repeatedly accused the U.S. and some Western countries of supporting terrorist groups in Central Asia.
