On Monday, Pakistan observed Youm-e-Istehsal, a day of solidarity with the people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Key figures in the country’s leadership, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and the military chiefs, expressed their unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s struggle for self-determination.
In a statement, President Zardari criticized India’s actions since August 5, 2019, describing them as violations of international law and disregard for the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He called on the international community to pressure India to cease its human rights abuses in the region and implement the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Prime Minister Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to providing strong moral, political, and diplomatic backing to the Kashmiri people until they achieve their right to self-determination. He emphasized the need for India to transition from denying the dispute to resolving it, highlighting the importance of peace and security in South Asia.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar echoed these sentiments, pledging continued support for the legitimate rights of the people of IIOJK.
The military leadership, including the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and the Service Chiefs, paid tribute to the martyrs of IIOJK, acknowledging their sacrifices. They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Kashmiri people’s struggle against oppression on political, moral, and humanitarian grounds
