The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported seven fatalities and nearly 400 families affected by heavy rains and floods in Afghanistan. The report stated that 1,500 acres of agricultural land were destroyed. Faryab, Nangarhar, and Daikundi provinces suffered the most damage. The northern region faced flooding three times in less than a month, with seven deaths and 384 affected families. Mirwais Hajizada, deputy head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock, emphasized the need for collaborative efforts and projects to support affected provinces.
Affected individuals in Faryab province requested more assistance from the Taliban and relief agencies. Ziauddin, an affected individual, highlighted the recent destruction of agricultural lands. The Ministry of Disaster Management reported over 1,600 destroyed homes and over 177,900 livestock deaths due to snow and rain in the past month.
