Afghanistan’s Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced that in the first six months of this year, the country’s trade volume reached an impressive $5.237 billion. This figure highlights the dynamic economic activities and the substantial trading partnerships the country has fostered.
A spokesperson from the Ministry revealed that exports alone amounted to nearly $700 million. However, only $58 million of these exports were directed to Central Asian countries, indicating a potential area for growth in regional trade relations.
Simultaneously, the Chamber of Commerce and Investment emphasized that the majority of Afghanistan’s exports are destined for South Asian countries. The Chamber is actively working on strategies to bolster exports to Central Asian nations, aiming to diversify the country’s trade portfolio and enhance economic ties within the region.
This report underscores the significant achievements in trade while also highlighting the areas where further efforts are needed to expand market reach and strengthen economic partnerships.
