Corps Commander Peshawar has urged the international donor agencies to assist in the uplift of Merged Tribal Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In a donor conference held in Peshawar, the military Commander said that the funds provided by international agencies will change living standards in the backward area. He said that the Pak Army and security agencies have made sure peace prevails in the region and alongside the uplift initiatives were imperatives for peace.
The Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa briefed the conference about the proposed mega intervention in the merged tribal districts.
A handout says that international agencies have agreed to provide about 1.8 billion dollars for the region.
