Chitral, a scenic area in Pakistan’s Hindukush, is preparing to host the 4th edition of its national football competition in early September. The Chitral Football League, established in 2021, has rapidly gained popularity, drawing teams from across Pakistan.
The Hindukush region, which spans parts of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, is widely celebrated for its rich cultural traditions and events. However, the inhabitants of this region are also avid enthusiasts of modern sports such as football, cricket, and hockey.
Speaking to the media, Kamal Abdul Jamil, Chief Executive of the Chitral Football League, expressed pride in hosting the upcoming event. He underscored the significance of the league for the region, not only in terms of sports but also in its broader impact. He highlighted the participation of players, officials, and a large number of spectators from across the country, noting that the event serves as a catalyst for economic growth and tourism in Chitral.
Kamal confirmed that the league will commence on 6th September and will run for 10 days, featuring 12 competing teams.
He further noted that the event is being organized in collaboration with the Chitral Scouts and the District Administration, marking it as a major sporting occasion for the area
