The Afghan foreign ministry rejected the recent UN report about situation in Afghanistan as false and said that the UN should present its views on the realities of Afghanistan.
Reported by the Afghan Islamic Press, the Afghan interior ministry spokesman Mufti Abdul Matin Qani said that they reject all the allegations leveled in the report of the UN secretary general. The report and all claims on the security situation of Afghanistan were baseless and out of context, he added. Qani continued to say that a comprehensive peace had restored in Afghanistan and for the Afghan people the security situation was exemplary.
Mufti Qani said that some incidents had occurred in the past few days. However, these were very few and small incidents.
The Islamic Emirate had taken efforts against drugs and abduction, he said. The report had possibly counted them in the incidents of security, he added.
“Some concerned UN agencies and some circles associated to this organization are trying to show the situation of Afghanistan as insecure and unstable. We hope that the UN would present its views by keeping in view the ground realities of Afghanistan,” he said.
The UN said in its report that incidents of insecurity had increased by 55 percent in Afghanistan.
