Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), delivered a strong message at the Khatam-e-Nabuwat Conference in Lahore, unequivocally rejecting the recognition of Israel as a legitimate state and emphasizing the inviolability of Pakistan’s integrity. Speaking at Minar-e-Pakistan, a location symbolic of Pakistan’s founding, Fazl reiterated the nation’s commitment to Islamic values and criticized external pressures to accept Israel.
Fazlur Rehman praised Hamas for its resistance against Israeli aggression and condemned the United States for its perceived hypocrisy on human rights, noting the heavy toll on Palestinian lives. He also called on the Pakistani government and military to align with public sentiment and warned against ignoring the voices of religious scholars.
The JUI-F chief criticized the results of the 2018 and 2024 elections, accusing the establishment of rigging and undermining the credibility of the assemblies. He expressed concern over the pressures on religious seminaries and questioned the military’s ability to maintain control in regions like Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where militants have gained strength.
Fazl concluded by emphasizing the nation’s collective support for an interest-free economy and the unanimous belief in the finality of prophethood, a central tenet of the conference
