A devastating bus accident near Rawalpindi has claimed the lives of at least 29 passengers, rescue officials confirmed to media on Sunday. The bus, which was en route from Haveli Kahuta to Rawalpindi, plunged into a deep ditch near the Pana Bridge in the Kahuta tehsil.
The precise cause of the accident, which occurred in a remote and mountainous area, remains unknown. Kahuta’s Station House Officer (SHO) Muhammad Zaka reported that the tragic incident took place near Azad Pattan Road, within the jurisdiction of Kahuta.
Emergency services, including police, administration, and rescue teams, swiftly responded to the scene. The bodies of the victims have been recovered and transported to the district headquarters hospital. Authorities have begun the process of identifying the deceased.
