Pakistan Army has claimed thwarting terrorist attack on a military cant in Banu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A presser released by military’s media wing ISPR said that 10 terrorists attacked military cantonment in the southern district of Banu, bordered with restive Wazirisan. The militants, armed with latest weapons, attempted to enter the cant but were chased by security officials, the presser said. An explosive ladened vehicle was ramped to boundary wall of cantonment resultantly a portion of boundary wall collapsed.
ISPR said that the attack by militants was thwarted and all the 10 terrorists were killed while 8 soldiers also lost their lives in the battle.
Military said that the heinous act of terrorism has been undertaken by Hafiz Gul Bahadur group, which operates from Afghanistan and has used Afghan soil to orchestrate acts of terrorism inside Pakistan in the past as well.
