The Ministry of Disaster Management states that 33 people have lost their lives and 27 others have been injured due to heavy rains and ongoing flooding in recent days.
Sayeq Janan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Disaster Management of the Taliban administration, announced on Sunday, April 14th, that in addition to the recent floods’ deaths, nearly 606 houses have been destroyed, and 1,950 hectares of agricultural land have been damaged.
He added that most provinces of Afghanistan have witnessed ongoing floods since Saturday, resulting in both loss of life and extensive financial damage. The provinces of Badghis, Uruzgan, Farah, Kandahar, Takhar, Zabul, Parwan, Nangarhar, Helmand, Kabul, Khost, Daykundi, Konar, Kapisa, Panjshir, Paktika, Paktia, Logar, Laghman, and Herat are caught by the situation.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Disaster Management cited the destruction of approximately 85 kilometers of main roads and secondary roads, the loss of 200 livestock, and the displacement of over a thousand families as other consequences of the recent floods in the country.
